Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of work-life balance and job satisfaction on employee
performance, with organizational commitment as a mediating variable. The research was
conducted on 320 employees working in the information technology sector in DKI Jakarta. A
quantitative approach was employed using a survey method, and data were analyzed using
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS software. The results indicate that
both work-life balance and job satisfaction have a positive and significant effect on employee
performance. In addition, both independent variables significantly influence organizational
commitment. Organizational commitment was also found to have a positive effect on
performance. However, the mediation analysis revealed that organizational commitment only
mediates the relationship between job satisfaction and performance, and not the relationship
between work-life balance and performance. These findings highlight the importance of
enhancing both job satisfaction and work-life balance to improve performance, with particular
emphasis on strengthening organizational commitment in relation to job satisfaction.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh work-life balance dan kepuasan kerja
terhadap kinerja karyawan, dengan komitmen organisasional sebagai variabel mediasi.
Penelitian dilakukan pada 320 karyawan sektor teknologi informasi di DKI Jakarta. Pendekatan
yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei, dan data dianalisis menggunakan
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) berbasis Partial Least Squares (SmartPLS). Hasil
penelitian menunjukkan bahwa work-life balance dan kepuasan kerja berpengaruh positif dan
signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Keduanya juga berpengaruh positif terhadap komitmen
organisasional. Komitmen organisasional memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kinerja,
namun hanya memediasi hubungan antara kepuasan kerja dan kinerja karyawan. Sementara
itu, pengaruh work-life balance terhadap kinerja karyawan tidak dimediasi oleh komitmen
organisasional. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya perhatian organisasi
terhadap work-life balance dan kepuasan kerja sebagai strategi peningkatan kinerja, dengan
penguatan komitmen organisasional khususnya untuk aspek kepuasan kerja.
