Abstract

This study uses quantitative data types to analyze the effect of the application of
professional ethics and emotional intelligence on the decision making of auditors of BPK
RI Representative of Riau Islands Province. Questionnaires were used as the initial data
source. Auditors working at the BPK RI Representative of Riau Islands Province are the
subject of this study. The analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression using
SPSS model 25 program. The objective was to evaluate the relationship between the
variables of implementation of professional ethics and emotional intelligence as
independent variables and variable of decision making as dependent variable. The
research shows that the implementation of professional ethics, measured by the values of
independence, integrity and professionalism listed in the BPK Code of Ethics, has a
positive and significant effect on the decision making ability of auditors. Emotional
intelligence, as measured by self-awareness, self-control, motivation, empathy, and social
skills, affects the auditor's decision-making ability.
