Abstract
The psychological conditions of disabled adolesecence like inferiority,
helplessness, as well as desperate are caused by their physical handicap. This
condition influence their self concept and autonomy so that it is decreasing their
potency to get involved in social life. This, in effect, needs adjustment. The
adjustment will be more effective because of the rehabilitation they participate.
Rehabilitation is a set of planned and limited process by professional to
facilitate the disabled adjustment so that the autonomy can be achieved and
maintained.
Based on the various models of social adjustment service, the researcher
designed a rehabilitation of social adjustment service for adolescence disables.
The social adjustment service is a self development program for disabled
adolesence provided by the institution to overcome psychological boundaries of
the disabled so that they are autonomous and effectively adjusting themselves in
social life. The rehabilitation involves self development, self management, and
problem solving.
The research was to test the influence of social adjustment rehabilitation
service on the self concept, autonomy, and social adjustment of the disabled
adolesents in their developmental tasks.
