Abstract
The aim of this research is to know about the relationship between self-esteem and communication apprehension about public speaking on college students with KBK system at X university in jakarta. This study involved 120 students of the university X in jakarta using survey technique. The result show there is a relationship between self-esteem and communication apprehension about public speaking with value r = -0.433 dan p = 0,000 < 0,05 . The relation is negative, the higher a person's self-esteem, the lower the communication apprehension, and vice versa. The lower a person’s self-esteem, the higher the communication apprehension. The Result shows that a high self-esteem will reduce communication apprehension. University need to maintain students with high self-esteem and giving workshop to increase their skills in public speaking
