Abstract
Artistic self-concept is one’s perceptions about his/her artistic ability, interest, talent, career potential, and performance skill. The major task in adolescence is establishing an identity, including self-concept that will carry over to adulthood. Present study involved 93 adolescents (15-18 years old), which was gathered from 532 adolescents after a series of screening. Present study used questioner and in-depth interview as the instruments. Paired Sample T-Test was used to analyze the data. The results of the present study are: (a) highest artistic selfconcept occurred for each adolescent who study art in its particular specialty; (b) verbal self-concept in adolescents who study art is higher than academic selfconcept; (c) support for the hypotheses is found in this study, adolescent who study art significantly have higher artistic self-concept than academic selfconcept.
